LYNNHAVEN They're some of the images one thinks of when Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads are mentioned: Cape Henry lighthouses, the fishing pier jutting off the Boardwalk, boats with colorful sails, bountiful seafood.
Capturing the region's iconography, artist Rick Romano has put the images together, overlaid on an old nautical map of the area, for a new painting, "Celebrate Hampton Roads."
The piece was reproduced in a 22- by 28-inch print commissioned by Dillard's department stores to mark the opening of their new location at Lynnhaven Mall.
