KILL DEVIL HILLS -- Another national drugstore chain may be moving to the Outer Banks within the next year.
Walgreens is proposing a 14,466-square-foot store at the southwest corner of Martin Street and U.S. 158, adjacent to JKs Restaurant and across the intersection from CVS Pharmacy.
It is the second drugstore giant to show an interest in the beach community this summer. Town commissioners recently approved plans for a 14,670-square-foot Eckerd drugstore at the corner of Eighth Street and U.S. 158, less than a mile from the proposed Walgreens.
