RON JONES, OWNER OF ALL Camaro and Firebird in North Little Rock said he received his first hot check from Arkansas Auto Auction Inc. in April.
Although that check for $2,000 eventually cleared, Jones was left holding $17,430 worth of hot checks in May from the North Little Rock company that offered to sell his vehicles at auctions, he said.
Jones was not alone.
At least 10 other central Arkansas car dealers received hot checks from Jody Lee Harris, 29, owner of Arkansas Auto Auction, and employee Brian K. Stevens, 37, according to charges filed July 28 by the Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
