MONTEREY, Calif. - As the race for California's first-ever elected insurance commissioner comes down to the wire, it is clear that the two major candidates could scarcely differ more on the issues.
Those differences were the focus of attention last week when Democratic candidate John Garamendi and his Republican opponent, Wes Bannister, made separate appearances to address the annual convention of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of California.
