SAN FRANCISCO - Retailers as well as manufacturers of intimate apparel have lagged behind in reaching contemporary women but it's starting to change, according to Hal Bosworth, senior vice president and general merchandise manager at I. Magnin.

He predicts the category will change dramatically and become increasingly important during the 1990s. "The industry is just now realizing that today's woman wants to look good even when she is lying on the couch watching television or reading the paper.
