City Council candidate Jim Compton was cited yesterday by Seattle elections officials for failing to provide complete records of his campaign spending.
Though Compton quickly apologized and supplied the missing receipts - no penalty was imposed - the error fueled opponents' barbs about the ex-TV host's campaign.
``He's running his campaign in a sneaky, backhanded way,'' said Lisa Collins, campaign manager for Alec Fisken, one of Compton's main foes in Tuesday's primary.
``If he can't report his own finances correctly, he can't report the city's,'' said Dawn Mason, a challenger in the hotly contested primary.
