WILMINGTON TRUST CO. AND SUSSEX TRUST CO. AGREE TO MERGE

WILMINGTON, Del., June 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Wilmington Trust Co. (NASDAQ: WILM) and Sussex Trust Co. today announced a merger agreement whereby Sussex Trust Co. will become part of the Wilmington Trust organization.

Sussex Trust Co.'s board of directors has approved the merger and will recommend it to their shareholders. In addition, Wilmington Trust Co. has received support agreements from certain of Sussex Trust Co.'s shareholders representing 18.9 percent of its outstanding shares.
