In the field of antiques, collecting from the Art Deco period remains one of the most prolific and certainly one of the most exciting when it comes to beautiful things.
The range is enormous and this column could not possibly cover the huge amount of items out there, from inlaid furniture and lacquered screens, down to the cheap tin cigarette cases and powder compacts, pressed glass dressing table sets from the mid-1930s (on sale at my local junk shop this week for pounds 10), down to Art Deco scarves and handkerchiefs.
