Senior living communities spend a great deal of time and thought developing a mission statement. They quickly learn that to define a community's strategic direction is a serious and painstakingly slow process. Yet a carefully crafted mission statement can reach beyond the obvious and become more than an outline of a company's objectives.
Look at it this way: Industry figures cite a national average annual staff turnover rate of 73% for the average assisted living community with a staff of 67. It is hard to fathom that every year an assisted living operator might have to face hiring almost an entirely new workforce.
