Aug. 24--The Ni-Med surgical-tray business will put 130 people out of work.
Allegiance Healthcare Corp. is shutting down its Ni-Med surgical-tray business in Farmington, Mo., next month, laying off 130 people.
In an effort to lower costs, the company will move production to a plant outside Chicago that produces similar trays, Allegiance spokeswoman Donna Gaidamak said Friday.
The decision is a blow to the Allegiance employees, whose last day is Sept. 12. But Mayor Kevin Engler hopes most of the workers who'll be laid off will be able to find work ...
