Aug. 27--Potter County commissioners Monday ordered an audit of county health insurance claims paid between 2000 and 2001.
Commissioners agreed Monday to authorize Smith & Associates to conduct a full audit of claims administered by Eagle Employee Benefit Services, which had administered the county's employee benefits program.
Sheriff's investigators are reviewing records and are investigating allegations that up to $1.3 million in overpayments for medical services returned to Eagle were not forwarded to Potter County, Sheriff Mike Shumate said earlier.
