TRENTON, N.J. -- In the wake of recent indications that its franchisor is for sale, the Independent Association of Jackson Hewitt Franchisees, Inc. announced its intention today to play an active role in the sale process, thereby addressing the needs and interests of Jackson Hewitt franchisees.
The franchisor of Jackson Hewitt Tax Service is Jackson Hewitt, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Cendant Corporation . During Tax Season 2002, Jackson Hewitt's more than 3,800 franchised and company-owned locations in 47 states, prepared more that 2.5 million tax returns.
