Article: Atlanta Airport Fires Security Supervisor Who Missed Gun in Woman's Luggage.

Aug. 28--A security screener at Hartsfield International Airport noticed something strange when a traveler with a handgun in her bag put it through an X-ray machine, but a supervisor missed the weapon and allowed the traveler to pass, federal officials said.

The supervisor, who worked for International Total Services Inc., a private screening contractor, was fired following the incident Sunday. James Loy, head of the Transportation Security Administration, revealed the chain of events in a television interview Tuesday.
