Audi inaugurates EUR 135 million engine plant
Gyor. August 29. INTERFAX-EUROPE - Audi Hungaria Motor Kft inaugurated its new engine plant, constructed with a EUR 135 million investment, in Gyor (northwest Hungary) on Thursday. The plant will produce Audi's new eight-cylinder engines, boosting the Hungarian subsidiary's capacity in these engines from 100 to 250 units a day, said Audi AG chairman Martin Winterkorn.
This volume will be reached once the plant operates at full capacity, expected in mid-2003. The new V8 engine will be built into the new model of Audi's flagship A8 - to be unveiled in Barcelona next week - as well as other premium models of the ...
