Imagine you are part of a small team asked to design and conduct a course for young people about sexuality and sexual health. The funding body wants a course with 15 to 16 weekly sessions, each lasting about two and a half hours. What approach would you take? What would you include? How would you structure it?
For most of us who work as sexuality educators, we would want to approach sexual health in a holistic manner. We would like to guide young people toward a positive experience of their sexuality; not just help them avoid unplanned pregnancies or sexually transmissible infections (STIs).
