PROJECT OVERVIEW:
US-based ANADARKO PETROLEUM CORP. has invested about $900,000,000 in Algeria since the award of its first exploration contract in 1989. And, the company is now gearing-up to invest another $160,000,000. The planned expenditure is to be divided between hydrocarbon exploration, appraisal and development works.
As a result, the work is expected to be mainly concentrated on its blocks 208 and 404 in southeast Algeria. In so doing, the company is also planning to drill 3 exploration wells. These will consist of 2 on block 404 and 1on block 208.
