The name of this focus story--RCR's Wireless Internet Update--may be a little out of date.
But that's OK. The term "wireless Internet" represents an important move within the wireless industry. It signifies the fact that wireless users can do more with their phones than just talk. It conjures up images of busy consumers using their phones to access all kinds of information when and where they need it, from checking movie show times to finding the nearest gas station.
And most of the industry's heavy hitters, from Openwave Systems Inc. to Verizon Wireless Inc. to the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association, actively use and promote the term ...
