Sept. 11 will be a time of remembrance around the world. Elk Grove Village also will pause to reflect on the lives lost Sept. 11, 2001.
The town's fire, police and public works departments will host a ceremony at 9 a.m. at the village's four fire stations.
Bells will sound at the times each World Trade Center tower collapsed, at 9:05 and 9:28 a.m.
A moment of silence also will be observed at separate ceremonies at the four stations: 101 Biesterfield Road; 1000 Oakton St.; 1655 Greenleaf Ave.; and 676 Meacham Road.
