Aug. 30--PGE Park's operators want to turn the downtown Portland stadium into a snow park between December and March, complete with igloos, up to 300-foot-long ramps for inner tubing and half pipes or quarter pipes for snowboarders.
Sounds straight out of Ripley's Believe It or Not!
But officials with Portland Family Entertainment say they are close to a deal with a Japanese-owned company, SnowMagic Entertainment Industries, that says it can make imitation snow at summer temperatures.
