Lester Gribetz Ruling Softly At Bloomingdale's
NEW YORK - Lester Gribetz walks through the cosmetics department, surveying Bloomingdale's frenetic first floor. As vice chairman and general merchandise manager, his province includes the home furnishings, food, restaurant and men's divisions. But on the cosmetics floor, he is right at home.
It seems as if Gribetz would prefer to mingle with customers and employees rather than be locked in his seventh floor office.
"You're new aren't you?" Gribetz asks a Chanel beauty adviser.
"I came from Bonwit Teller," she says. "They said we were doing well. I hope I'm not a jinx."
