Flushing Meadows, NY (Sports Network) - Former champion Serena Williams was a lopsided fourth-round winner Sunday at the U.S. Open.
The world No. 1 and top-seeded Williams waited out a lengthy rain delay and then promptly destroyed 20th-seeded Czech Daja Bedanova 6-1, 6-1 in 41 minutes to reach the quarterfinals of the year's final Grand Slam event.
The players were forced to wait out a 6 1/2-hour rain delay on Day 7, but the long wait had no effect on Serena's lethal game.
