The 2002 deer hunting season will include some of the most sweeping changes to deer hunting in several generations. All of the changes are intended to increase hunter participation and satisfaction, and allow for a greater antlerless deer harvest. Many of the changes are direct results of the input we received during the Future of Deer Hunting initiative held in 2000.
A revision to the deer hunting license structure leads the list. This fall, hunters can purchase as many as three separate licenses for the various deer seasons. Season-specific licenses will be available for the regular, muzzleloader and archery seasons, although hunters will be limited to two ...
