Saul Krotki is a man of many talents. He has led a diverse life as an artist, art teacher, martial arts instructor, lab technician, and mineral dealer. It's interesting to trace how he became involved in so many careers.
Saul's father was Carl Krotki, deceased July 2002, a well-known mineral and rare-book collector and long-time treasurer of the New York Mineralogical Club as well as treasurer of the Eastern Federation of Mineralogical and Lapidary Societies. Thus, the young Krotki grew up surrounded by both minerals and rare mineral books and also by such luminaries as Fred Pough, Paul Desautels, Frank Chambers, and John Sinkankas.
