A Church World Service delegation that visited four neighboring West African nations in early July has returned with an urgent plea for humanitarian aid. To help some 25,000 Liberians fleeing that country's civil war dating from 1989, CWS is shipping $100,000 in supplies for camps in and around Freetown, Sierra Leone, a nation which itself saw its own 11-year civil violence end in January. The nearby countries of Guinea and Gambia have also been affected.
