Article: Italian firm gets Cairo cleaning contract. (Construction).(Italy's AMA, the municipal company that provides cleaning services for Rome)

Italy's AMA, the municipal company that provides cleaning services for Rome, has won the contract to collect and dispose of solid waste in northern Cairo. The 15-year contract with the governorate of Cairo is worth LE 52 million ($11.5 million) a year.

AMA won the order in joint venture with the local Arab Contractors (Osman Ahmed Osman & Company). The two partners are setting up a new company -- to be named AMA Arab Environment Company -- to carry out the project. Areas covered include Zeitoun, El-Qobba Gardens, El-Zawiya el-Hamra, El-Shorabiya, Shoubra, Rod el-Farag and El-Sahel.
