Knorr's planned -- but long-delayed -- departure from Chicago's city hall, where he worked as comptroller and then chief financial officer under Mayor Richard Daley, is official. He started work Monday as a managing director and co-manager of public finance for the Midwest region at Salomon Smith Barney Inc. according to a source at Salomon.
