NEW YORK -- Some 350 police officers from the United Kingdom will cross the Atlantic to pay their respects to their New York City counterparts by participating in the memorial services planned for the one-year anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
All 350 officers will be staying at the New Yorker Hotel at a reduced rate, according to General Manager Barry Mann. It is the latest goodwill gesture by the hotel for uniformed officers since September 11.
