BIG STORE SALES FOR MAY
*SEARS MERCHANDISE GROUP: Sears, Roebuck & Co.: Sales edged up 0.9 percent to $2,501,757,712 from $2,479,663,051, with same same-store sales also up 0.9 percent. In the 17 weeks year-to-date, sales rose 1.6 percent to $10,283,570,722 from $10,123,112,014, with comparable-store sales up 2.4 percent. *K MART CORP.: Sales increased 10.4 percent to $2,437,440,000 from $2,208,487,000, while same-store sales rose 0.9 percent.
