Is it deserved? I'd anticipated a grande dame with a patina of faded glamour as I neared the faux-Moorish entrance. Yet on closer inspection La Mamounia seems to inhabit some imaginary French-colonial North Africa - the kind seen in Hollywood movies shot entirely on lots ...
