Why does the political left always seem so agonizingly serious?
"We're all busy trying to save the world," said Niel Ritchie, national organizer for the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy. "It's a big job."
Ritchie actually laughed at himself.
Kris Jacobs, executive director of Jobs Now, a coalition of 115 worker-advocacy groups, also was asked about the lack of smiling progressives.
"Too much work to do," she said.
