BEIJING, Sept 4 Asia Pulse - China's gross revenue from health food sales reached 18.15 billion yuan in 2001, 3.1 per cent more than that in 2000, according to information released by the Chinese Health Food Association.
The year's gross production value of health food was 21.76 billion yuan (US$2.72 billion).
Statistics show that there were 1,027 enterprises producing 1,509 varieties of health food in China in the year.
Most health food processors are small and medium sized. The number of health food enterprises each with a registered capital of over 100 million yuan increased 31.6 per cent from 38 in 2000 to 50 in 2001; the number of ...
