This one has what its predecessor didn't _ Curry sauce.
Fall's first newcomer, The WB's spiced-up version of "Family Affair," benefits greatly from Tim Curry's considerable presence as proper Mr. French. He's the key ingredient in a pleasantly charming redo that otherwise seems like a mighty odd fit for a network that lives to entice 12-to-34-year-olds.
It's hard to imagine many teens or young adults watching a rather "square" show such as this. Then and now, "Family Affair" is about as cutting edge as Bobby Goldsboro singing "Honey" at the John Forsythe Center for the Performing Arts.
But let's not be too harsh. Fogeys past the age of 35 might ...
