L.A. software firm is first to establish Soviet Union office

Nantucket Corp., a Los Angeles-based computer software company, has opened an office in the Soviet Union, the company announced last week.

"There are other American software companies that are selling products there, but under a joint venture with the Russians or through a Russian distributor," said Larry Heimendinger, president and CEO of Nantucket. "We're first to go in with our own staff."
