2002 SEP 15 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Consumer Advisory on Methyl Mercury and Fish Consumption, issued by the agency last year, "provides sound, actionable advice to the public on safely consuming fish," according to the National Food Processors Association (NFPA).
"FDA has done an exemplary job in the development, focus and wording of this Advisory," said Rhona Applebaum, NFPA's executive vice president of scientific and regulatory affairs. Applebaum made her remarks at a meeting of FDA's Food Advisory Committee, to discuss the Agency's Consumer Advisory regarding methyl mercury and fish recently.
