Palm Digital Media, a publisher and distributor of e-books for handhelds and a division of PalmSource, Inc., has unveiled new versions of its Palm Reader e-book application for Mac and Windows computers. The development makes available the Palm Reader library of nearly 5,500 titles to millions of desktop and notebook computer users.

Customers with an Internet connection can purchase, download, and start reading Palm Reader e-books and move easily between desktops, notebooks, and handhelds. For example, the new versions allow users to start reading an e-book on a Mac desktop at home or work and finish it on the company's Palm Powered handheld while on the go.
