The United States Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) efforts to jump start green purchasing and other recycled/reuse opportunities have intensified in the recent past. The government's influence is significant and cannot be ignored in light of its enormous buying power, and EPA's efforts, as well as those of the Department of Energy (DOE) and other federal agencies. They will almost certainly influence private sector manufacturing habits and purchasing preferences for years to come.
