Filipino Migrant Women in The Netherlands is a collection of life stories of four Filipino women which revolves around the formation of the women's selves, their consciousness of themselves as individuals, and the identities they choose to create (or are forced to take), continuously recreate, live, and negotiate on a daily basis.
Theirs are stories of individual women whose coloured and ethnic identities obviously differ from that of the mainstream white Dutch population, whose accents confirm these differences, and whose culture and values place them between the Dutch and the Filipino cultures, though never fully belonging to either.
