Upcoming predictions for the market of prescription antiviral drugs show that while worldwide economic markets around the world are suffering, people still have money for necessities like medicine. According to a report from Business Communications Co. Inc., Norwalk, Conn., the global market for antiviral drugs produced revenues of $9.3 billion for manufacturers last year. This means that the market has grown more than $840 million since 2000 and more than $1.4 billion since 1999. The trend is expected to continue at a growth rate of 8.4% through 2008, where revenues should reach $13.3 billion.
