Local golf course owners try to lure overseas buyers

The owners of at least seven golf courses in San Diego are quietly trying to sell their properties, golf course brokers and industry insiders report. Course owners could be hoping to cash in on the heady buying spree of overseas investors, particularly the Japanese.

Hank Litten, a Carlsbad golf course broker and consultant, confirmed that at least seven local courses are for sale. However, Litten flatly refused to identify them.
