It's not perfect, but it's still Manhattan's retail mecca
NEW YORK -- Fifth Avenue. The words spring to mind visions of high tea at The Plaza, perfectly-coiffed socialites tottering about in elegant boutiques and Audrey Hepburn gazing raptly at Tiffany's windows in "Breakfast At Tiffany's."
And though Fifth Avenue's light dimmed in the '80s as retailers bypassed it in favor of Madison Avenue or 57th Street, an influx of new blood is rejuvenating the block.
