Metzenbaum `Intrigued' By HIAA Small Grp. Plan
WASHINGTON--Sen. Howard Metzenbaum, D-Ohio, is expressing interest in a plan by the Health Insurance Association of America to reform the small group health insurance market and is urging HIAA to work with his staff to possibly develop legislation.
"I find your plan an intriguing proposal," Sen. Metzenbaum told an HIAA witness at a Senate Judiciary subcommittee hearing on problems in the small group health insurance market.
Sen. Metzenbaum, a tough industry critic who is sponsoring legislation to repeal the McCarran-Ferguson Act, called the HIAA plan "a step in the right direction." Rick Curtis, ...
