Fort Worth, TX (Sports Network) - CART driver Max Papis will replace injured Indy Racing League driver Gil de Ferran for the season-ending Chevy 500 on Sunday.
De Ferran was involved in a serious crash over the weekend in the Delphi Indy 300 at Chicagoland Speedway. De Ferran was involved in a wreck on lap 52 and suffered a concussion as well as a hairline fracture in his left wrist. He was flown to a local hospital for observation, but was released Monday.
