As the roars from last week's PGA Championship at Hazeltine National fade into lasting memories, excitement is building for an Upper Midwest town just a 5 1/2-hour drive from the Twin Cities.
The two-year countdown has started in Kohler, Wis., 60 miles north of Milwaukee on the shores of Lake Michigan and home of Whistling Straits. From Aug. 9 to 15, 2004, the 86th PGA Championship will be consuming Kohler the way the 84th captivated the Twin Cities last week.
