March imports to the United States increase 0.6 percent

Imports into the United States during March showed a slight gain of 0.6 percent; however, over the first three months of 1990, imports were down seven-percent over the same period last year.

Canada showed virtually no change in imports during March, reporting 4.92 million gallons shipped to the U.S.--3,000 gallons more than March 1989. Nonetheless, despite the slight increase during the month, Canada continues to run 21.8-percent below last year's first quarter figures.

Similarly, the Netherlands showed an increase in exports to the United States in March, slating a 12.4-percent upswing. ...
