When your friends take you aside and tell you about the amazing properties of mushrooms, it normally means you should get some new friends.

But new studies by Cancer Research UK suggest some exotic mushrooms could be cancer busters.

So far, research points to shiitake, oysters and enoke as containing the most powerful anti-tumour agents. These have been used for centuries in Eastern medicine and are now a common sight on supermarket shelves.
