THE relations between the Philippines and China, the country with the largest market and population in the world, are expected to be cemented further with the visit of Chairman Li Peng of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China (PROC).
Chairman Li Peng comes at the invitation of House Speaker Jose C. de Venecia Jr. who has been relentless in churning out proposals and economic, social and political reform measures to reduce poverty and counter the inroads of extremism among our impoverished peoples. Speaker De Venecia will host a dinner in honor of the visiting Chinese leader and his delegation.
