LIFE DOES NOT take a holiday.
Not when our sad world rushes up. Not when evil looms. Not when we live with foreboding and fear.
Life, as we saw publicly yesterday, goes on.
At ground zero. At the Pentagon. At a verdant Pennsylvania field.
At hundreds of memorial services and tributes across the country.
Because Americans resolved to remember and honor the victims murdered in last September's terrorist attacks, we now know that life, like a blade of grass poking from concrete, prevails. That truth can be hard to appreciate in a time of great sadness.
