Troubled sleep particularly affects older people, sometimes worsening illness and causing frustration, confusion and depression, according to a panel of experts at an NIH Consensus Development Conference on treating sleep disorders of older people.
The panel said that the goals of treatment are to reduce illness and death and improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
