Sep. 14--The Strip will take on a Latin flavor this weekend as several major resorts try to capitalize on Monday's Mexican Independence Day holiday.
"Mexican Independence Day weekend has always been a big weekend for Las Vegas," said Scott Voeller, vice president of marketing for Mandalay Bay. "We always look to put some sort of significant event that appeals to the Mexican culture, whether it's a boxing match or concert featuring a top-name performer."
