After 32 years of running his own company, Mel Bankoff, the founder of Eugene-based Emerald Valley Kitchen, is back to being an employee.
Bankoff sold his company, which makes organic salsas, hummus and dips, to Italian foods producer Monterey Pasta Co., based in Salinas, Calif. In a deal that closed Monday, publicly traded Monterey paid $5.5 million in cash for Emerald Valley's ...
